Room for more delegates at the State Convention

TDWCC Members,

The County Convention was held Saturday and delegates to the State Convention were chosen.
There is room for more at-large delegates, so if you are interested in going to the convention, call the DPCC office by Wednesday this week. 972-578-1483.

The State Convention is in Houston Fri-Sat, June 8-9 (June 7 evening is SDEC meeting). Details are on TDP website.

If you want to attend, we can organize some car pools and share rooms at the hotel — let us know if you are interested.

Jack Ternan postpones campaign kickoff set for Saturday

Because of the court ordered change in the candidate filing period and the uncertainty surrounding the borders of the state senate districts, the Jack Ternan for Texas Senate campaign kick-off event formerly set for this Saturday, November 12, 2011, is being postponed.

The new, tentative date for the campaign kick-off is Saturday, December 10, 2011.  The event will still begin at noon and occur at Plano East Senior High School. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP at communicate@jackternanforsenate.com or at the campaign website:  www.jackternanforsenate.com.

Bill White for Texas phone banking opportunity

Bill White’s campaign is holding a phone banking event on Thursday, 5:30 -9pm. The event is casual, so you are welcome to come and go at your convenience. Please come with a charged cell phone and a laptop. If you do not have a laptop, that’s okay. Please bring a friend!

Texas State Convention

This year’s Texas Democratic State Convention will be held at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, June 25-26th. There is great enthusiasm on the part of the Corpus Christi community to welcome our Democratic Delegates, Alternates, and guests to this year’s convention and kick our election season into high gear.

Importantly, in addition to facilitating the business of the Democratic Party, those elected as Delegates and Alternates to the State Convention have a number of opportunities to get involved and support the convention planning process, including soliciting auction items for our Convention Kickoff Silent Auction and helping to find volunteers willing to work at the State Convention.

Texas Democratic Women (TDW), our state-wide parent organization, will hold the Women’s Caucus at the convention and help with the Lady Bird Johnson Breakfast.
