Hello BROADS (Book Readers of a Democratic Slant),

Just wanted to check in and remind you that our next discussion will be this Thursday,  5/17. The meeting will be at my house 2508 Rosehill Ln -   It’s near Park and Coit (sort of behind the Haggard  library). We’ll be discussing:

The Fox Effect: How Roger Ailes Turned a Network into a Propaganda Machine.

I’m reading it and didn’t realize how coordinated their messaging was! Good discussion book.

Let’s plan on meeting by 6:30ish so we’ll have some social time before we can start discussing the book by 7 pm. REMEMBER . . . even if you haven’t read the book, you are more than welcome to come.  Come for the fellowship and to vent!

I’ll have tea and lemonade and a couple of bottles of wine.  Feel free to bring wine and/or an appetizer to share.

Also please bring any book suggestions for our next read.

Our Frisco Rough Riders will be hosting the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Kids can run the bases after the game!

The ticket price includes:

• a seat behind home plate (for the first 50 tickets sold, after 50 the tickets will be in a group somewhere as yet to be determined)
• a limited-edition Rough Riders hat
• all-you-can-eat food and drinks (hot dogs, brats, nachos, and Dr. Pepper products for the first hour and a half of the game)

3. Pick up your tickets at the will-call window. Make sure to bring a photo ID.

Contributions are not tax-deductible. TDWCC is a registered Political Action Committee (PAC).

We hope you come out to Plano Convention Center and help elect delegates for the Democratic State Convention and hear from our local Democratic candidates. TDWCC will have a booth at the convention with information and sign-up opportunities for our GOTV efforts. Convention details can be found at www.collindems.us.

Put that new appointment as a volunteer deputy registrar to use by registering Collin College students to vote! Volunteers are needed for two hour shifts from 10am-12pm and 12pm-2pm. If you can participate, send email to gotv@tdwcc.org.

In lieu of our regular monthly April meeting, join us for a spirited debate between the two candidates for Democratic Party County Chair so you can make an informed decision to grow Democrats in Collin County during the Democratic primary elections. This event is sponsored by TDWCC along with CCGLA, Drinking Liberally – Plano, Muslim Caucus – Collin County, the Texas Democratic Men’s Club, and the Allen Democrats.
