Mary Beth Rogers

Mary Beth Rogers is a Texas Women’s Hall of Fame honoree with almost thirty years of experience in government, public affairs, and non-profit management.  After serving as Deputy Treasurer of Texas, she ran Ann Richards’ successful campaign for Governor.  Ms. Rogers went on to serve as Governor Richards’ Chief of Staff and Chair of her next campaign.

Ms. Rogers’ work relating to women’s issues is extensive.  She directed “Texas Women—A Celebration of History,” the first major museum exhibition about the history of women.  For almost 25 years, Ms. Rogers served on the board of the Foundation for Women’s Resources, a national organization dedicated to improving the personal, economic, and professional status of women and girls.  She is currently on the Dallas Advisory Board of Annie’s List, a statewide organization which recruits, trains, and supports women Democrats running for office in TX.  Ms. Rogers has also written several books, including a biography of Barbara Jordan and a collection of children’s stories about adventurous women.

In addition to these many accomplishments, Mary Beth Rogers has served as the President and CEO of the PBS affiliate in Austin, has taught and lectured at schools as close as UT and as far as the National School of Public Administration in Warsaw, Poland, was the first Chair of Austin’s Ethics Review Commission, and is currently a consultant to the 2020 Group, developing issues and ideas to improve the lives of all Texans by 2020.
