TDWCC Get Out The Vote 2008 Summary   We have elected Barack Obama, President and Joe Biden, Vice President. We have made gains in Collin County.  Texas Democratic Women of Collin County is proud to have been a part of this Democratic movement.  What we were able to do as an organization is a direct result of the generosity and hard work of many individuals.  To all of those who joined us in our efforts, THANK YOU!   As a result of your generous donations, TDWCC: Established and operated a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) office from Pre-Primary February, 2008 until the General Election on November 4, 2008. Made direct donations to TDWCC endorsed candidates totaling $11,750. Purchased and distributed 2,000 Obama yard signs, 550 Noriega yard signs, and 500 Obama bumper stickers. Published a ½ page color ad in the Dallas Morning News and a ¼ page black and white ad in 6 Collin County newspapers reminding people about voting, encouraging straight party voting, and featuring 7 Democratic candidates. Paid for robocalls to go out to more than 53,000 voters on October 24th.  Calls reminded voters about early voting, mentioned candidates Obama, Noriega, Jordan, and where applicable Daley, Melancon, Manuel and Power, and provided their closest early voting location. Paid for robocalls to go out to more than 30,000 voters on November 3rd.  Calls reminded voters about the November 4th election, provided their polling place location and address, and gave the TDWCC phone number for questions or rides to the polls.    As a result of your hard work and over 1,150 volunteer hours logged:   Calls went out from volunteers to more than 34,000 voters!! More than 3,000 were for the Primary. More than 16,000 were Voter ID calls. More than 14,000 were GOTV calls during the last 3 weeks before the November 4th election. 20 voter registration drives were conducted.
